Shukr

Ya Allah
You've seen me at my best and my worst. You've been beside me when I have cried, laughed and screamed. You've witnessed my good and evil, my arrogance and humility. You've known me at every phase of my life and yet You still give me what I ask for.
Ya Allah,
The words to thank You fail me, but I know You know the gratitude that flows through me.
Ya Allah,
When I bow my head to worship You,
I bow my heart in thanks to You.
Any good in this post is from Allah SWT and any bad is from myself and Shaytaan.

Shukr..for death

'Death will reach a man when three events coincide; he reaches his place of death, he has consumed his last morsel and he has earned the last of his decreed livelihood.'

I'm not sure whether that's a hadith or not, but I searched high and low for it and could not find anything to indicate as such. The first time I heard that however, a cold shiver ran through my spine and straight through my heart. You know that feeling you get when you're so terrified it hurts?
I mean, it could happen any moment. My time in this world could come to an end tomorrow, this evening, right now. Am I ready?

Shukr..for adversity

So, this post was actually supposed to be about health however due to 'current circumstances' I decided this was a more relevant subject. Health will have to wait.

'God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches you by means of opposites, so that you will have two wings to fly -not one.'
- Rumi

I love this quote by Rumi, it gives me great comfort to think that what may seem like a bad situation could just be Allah SWT's way of making us better people. For me, believing that is important in order to remain sane in the face of adversity.

Shukr..for being a woman

Oh Muslimah
If only you knew how special you are to Him.
So much so that He has prescribed Hijab for you in order that you remain protected at all times.
So much so that He has placed Jannah beneath your feet.
So much so that He sent His most beloved messenger to teach men how to treat you.
So much so that He made life start with you, and the future depend on you.
So much so that He has dedicated an entire chapter of His glorious book to you.
He has valued you.
He has elevated your worth.
He has beautified your existence.
Muslimah, do not let yourself be cheapened to a value any less;
You are precious.

Shukr

So. Having finally decided to make a blog, what better way to start than by explaining why I'm doing it?

Well........it's to thank Allah.
Simple.

Every single day, we have something to be grateful for. At the time we (well, I) may acknowledge the blessing, thank Him (if we remember), then continue on with life as though it was what we deserved anyway and immediately forget about it.
